Can I get liposuction with Fibroids on my uterus. Also how long after surgery can I travel by airplane

I suggest seeing an expert for an evaluation, the person doing fibroid treatment is likely not the expert to do liposuciton and they should be done separeately in my opinion.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question.  Because liposuction takes place at the level of fat above or superficial to your abdominal muscles, while your uterus is deep or behind the muscles you can safely have liposuction performed.  I would allow yourself several days worth of recovery before traveling by airplane, having at least one postoperative visit with your surgeon but this is a question best asked of your surgeon as they know the full extent of your anticipated surgery.  Hope this helps.

Uterine fibroids are internal and liposuction is superficial above the muscle.layer. Unless you have bleeding issues from the fibroids, or other issues, it is unlikely to be a problem to get liposuction. You would of course have to be evaluated in person to get a full history and perform an adequate exam.
