Mini and mid face lift - can moving cheek pads be performed during full facelift?

I went for a consult and the doctor recommended both a mini and mid facelift.. the mid facelift would be to move my cheek pads.. my question is.. why can’t moving my cheek pads be part of a full facelift instead of breaking the face done in parts and charging for both?

A well performed deep plane approach should lift your cheek; it's a self volumizing approach.  The difference between a mini- and a facelift is whether or not the neck is included. In my opinion, and endoscopic midface lift has almost no utility with the availability of many Surgeons performing a deep plane facelift and the plethora of volumizers available.

Thank you for your excellent question. There are different types of facelifts and each do different things. Most surgeons would do what you suggested and address both areas with "one procedure" but that's not to say the way your surgeon itemized it is "wrong". Of note, facelift can be done wide awake using local anesthesia and oral medications to help you relax. Patients do incredibly well with this and it avoids the side effects of general anesthesia.

A deep plane facelift, would address all of your concerns, including the cheek, fat pad of the mid face and excess skin and muscle laxity. This is most commonly combined with facial fat grafting to restore a natural balanced look, addressing each individual subunit of the face.

You will need to ask your surgeon that question. There are different types of facelift:  full, mini, neck, deep plane and fascial. The deep is the most invasive and the most time needed.

A deep place facelift will lift the midface, it volumizes the cheeks and softens the nasolabial folds. When looking to rejuvenate your face, a deep place facelift is the best option as it gives the most natural and longest lasting result.
