Hello, do you have a "before treatment" photo? Without comparing before and after, your concerns can be due to a few things. (1) Allergies - I see a lot of patients with allergy issues, and certainly allergies can cause fluid to build up in your sinuses and around your eyes. This can lead to under-eye swelling. Management of allergies will include identification of triggers, avoidance, and treatment of symptoms (antihistamine, nasal corticosteroid spray like flonase). (2) Dermal filler - filler injection in this region is very tricky. If the product is placed in the wrong place, it can be too superficial which leads to visibility of dermal filler underneath the skin and contribute to a swollen appearance of the lower eyelid. If too much product is placed, it can contribute to blockage of the lymphatic drainage system of the lower eyelid and also contribute to swelling. (3) Herniation of fat - which can be genetic or age-related. Your photos are not clear. It would be a good idea for you to follow up with your injector. If you are concerned about this being a filler side effects, you may talk to your injector about getting the filler dissolved, and see if the swelling and darkness improve.
