Allergic Rhinitis impact on rhinoplasty?

Hi, I am considering a rhinoplasty in next 2-3 months. I am prone to allergic rhinitis and need to take an anti histamine now and then. Are there any precautions I need to start taking prior to the surgery. How close to surgery can I still take the antihistamines? Thanks

Good evening! If you have allergic rhinitis, a routine which helps to decrease inflammation will be critical. If using an antihistamine works, I would not necessarily see a problem with that. You’ll get quite a bit of inflammation after rhinoplasty anyway and it may help you feel more comfortable. Continuing any form of nasal saline will also be beneficial. Hope this helps!
