Hair Transplantation! Donor Area after one month! over harvested? What can I do to get a normal density?! (photo)

Question

Hi, I had a big hairtransplant about one month ago in Turkey. They took about 3-4 thousand grafts (which is very much). I was told that my donor area will look normal after 2-6 weeks but until now its very noticeable. Is this permanent or will some hairs regrow? Can i do anything to let the donor area blend in or get my normal density back? The First Photo is after 3 weeks and letting it grow. all other are from now and with short hair. Please help me and i hope you got good news.

3000 to 4000 FUE grafts at once may make your scalp look sparse or over harvested. If you have issues, please follow up with your doctor.  There isn't much you can do at this point other than wait for surrounding hairs to grow.

Can't tell from the photos what was actually done. It looks over harvested in the first picture, but they no doubt shaved your donor area so that may be why it looks so sparse now. I am not a fan of FUE megasessions for the very reasons you are concerned about. Hopefully they spread out the extractions enough to allow the rest of your donor hair to recover. There isn't much you can do now other than contact your FUE doctor and wait to see what happens. You should get some recovery, but 4000 grafts via FUE in one sitting is not recommended.

This is a large FUE and you are lucky it looks this way as this is not bad considering the number of harvests.  You should talk to your doctor about options. This is a good reminder why transplants in other countries like Turkey are not always a good idea in every patient.

Over harvesting with FUE is becoming a common problem. Donor material should be harvested by a physician only and great care needs to be taken to avoid over harvesting and the resulting moth eaten appearance. 3,000-4,000 by FUE is overharvesting. Scalp micro-pigmentation may be of benefit to you. Hopefully, your situation will help others avoid the problem you now face.

There is no way to get your hair back in the donor area, but you can treat this with scalp micropigmentation very nicely. See web reference below
