Can you undergo breast augmentation surgery with ITP (low platelet count)?

Question

I have chronic ITP and have a manageable platelet count approx 80 (without predniselone or meds), at times where my count is under 30 I respond quickly to predniselone and my count will rise overnight. I still have my spleen and have never had an issue with bleeding to date. Is undergoing breast implant surgery advisable for anyone who suffers from ITP?

Thanks for your question re: Breast Augmentation and Low Platelets.Not everyone with ITP will bleed. Ideally, with Breast Augmentation, your bleeding should be minimal and controlled. Failure to do so will increase the risk of complications. It is important to speak to your Haematologist who can advise you appropriately based on tests etc etc.Then your PS can liaise with your Haematologist if you need some blood products or medications to optimise outcome.All the best
