I would like laser resurfacing done on my lips but was just wondering if the peel would make a difference to the lines.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

Dear Nic37,
A 30-35% TCA peel should help diminish the fine lines around the mouth. A combination approach is sometimes best with laser, microneedling, and filler injections. Also, try to sleep on your back if possible to prevent the formation of sleep creases on either side of the face.

I use a great deal of 35 percent TCA for the lines around the mouth as well as Fraxel laser and PRP with Microneedling and Volbella injections.  The best combination will usually treat these wrinkles depending on the depth of the wrinkles. Yes, agree with Dr Green. Acetone scrub and TCA can help diminish. Not many patients use correct terminology as many would say GET RID OF, but to decrease, or diminish is the end goal.
