Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Sun spots will need life-long maintenance. A combination approach will give the most improvement long term with lasers (Fraxel, Tattoo lasers, Excel V, Pulsed Dye) and microneedling/prp. It may take a few treatments to get improvement and will need life-long treatments to maintain. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Have your doc apply a TCA soln to the sun spot directly if it is an actinic keratosis or lentigo.
TCA peels an be very effective treatments for reducing sun spots and hyperpigmentation. Treatments are effective for patients with both light and darker skin color. The peels should be done by a qualified and experiences provider.
TCA peels will remove the top layer of skin and exfoliate away brown spots. These peels can be used on areas other then the face. From experience the skin on your face peels very differently then skin on the neck and chest. The neck and chest tend to flake over a longer period of time. The key with peels is not to pick at an area that is peeling as that can actually lead to the deposition of brown pigment in an area. Peels that contain hydroquinone or kojic acid do a great job at reducing hyperpigmentation.I do not market microneedling as a good way to treat hyperpigmentation. You do get light peeling with a treatment and this can help minimize brown spots. I microneedle areas other then the face such as hands, neck and chest with great results. The benefits are typically improvement in skin tone and texture and reduction in fine lines. In rare circumstances I have seen hyperpigmentation in individuals that are microneedled.Be careful with dermarollers as they can create shear forces that can tear and damage the skin.
Yes, in good hands they can be excellent to remove sunspots and age warts. The art of peeling is to blend in treated areas- this gives a nice natural progression. TCA spot treatments to sun spots on a background of sun damage can give rise to new skin, with demarkation areas. Most commonly I use lasers such as Fraxel, BBL- Fraxel or Pico lasers to blend in the surrounding sun damage. This gives the most natural results. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
Hard to comment how this procedure was performed, and for what specific acne scar type. TCA CROSS is best of ice pick scars, and narrow deep box car scars. In expert hands they can be used to make deeper broad box car scars shallower, but this is technique dependent. Every Specialist will have t...
It seems within a normal range. The degree of skin peeling varies a lot depending on skin type. The thicker the less. The dryer the more. And the healing ointment that you use with the TCA peel. You can apply a little less amount of ZO system. You will see more peeling. Please...
