My nose is very wide and takes up my whole (very small face) I want to narrow it but am afraid of it looking fake and over done. I want a very subtle job. It is straight but very round and bulbous. Having a round face I feel I need it more angular . Is this possible ?
Answer: Can I get a subtle nose job? Yes, you can. A refined natural looking nose that matches your facial proportions should be the goal, and can be achieved in the right hands. Seek an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon in your area.

Answer: Subtle nose job A natural, subtle shaped nose can be achievable with rhinoplasty surgery. The goal should be to keep your nose in harmony with your other facial features. Research and meet qualified Plastic Surgeons to discuss your aesthetic goals with them. See whether their approach matches what you are looking to achieve. It is difficult to give you specific advice in this forum, so best to schedule an in person examination so that you can fully discuss all aspects of rhinoplasty and what can be achieved with your nose. I would suggest that you start your research with the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Best of luck

Answer: Rhinoplasty to narrow a wide nose Yes, closed rhinoplasty techniques can address narrowing a wide nose. To narrow the bridge line requires osteotomies placed in the nasal bones. Narrowing the tip requires suture techniques applied to the lower lateral cartilages of the nasal tip. Thick skin in the tip of the nose will be an impediment to seeing a very refined result. Digital computer imaging would be helpful to understand what can be accomplished with your nose upon your facial features. For many examples of narrowing a wide nose in our practice, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Subtle Rhinoplasty is a good goal Dear Emmageorge, Rhinoplasty in itself should always appear subtle or refined unless the patient requests something more dramatic. The ultimate goal of a rhinoplasty is to have a natural looking nose that you appear to be born with versus one that was purchased. Your nose should be balanced with your overall facial features to provide enhancement to your facial aesthetics. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.,
