If one has fullness in the submental region, that is the area under the chin and the upper neck, there are several factors that can determine the outcome with liposuction alone. If the fullness is due to significant fatty tissue in this region, one would expect a significant change with liposuction. However, other factors include the quality of the skin including its elasticity, the anatomy and positioning of the platysma muscle, the cartilage, bone and muscle structure of the neck which can vary from individual to individual, and also the possibility that there is sub muscular positioning of fat. Just looking at your photo, you might get good results with liposuction. Liposuction will not move your hyoid bone. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon and seeing if you are a candidate for liposuction.
