Hi. Thanks for your questions in relation to smoking prior to breast surgery. In general, you should cease all smoking at least 4-6 weeks prior to a breast lift procedure. Smoking, whether there is any nicotine or tobacco, will impact on blood supply going to the breast. This in turn will lead to an increased risk of adverse wound healing and wound breakdown. Importantly, it could also adversely impact on the blood supply to the nipple. This is an issue you should discuss with your surgeon, who may or may not be comfortable with proceeding with surgery if you are still smoking. All the very best.Dr Ray Goh
Thank you for your question! For my patients having any surgical procedure, I require that they are completely nicotine free and stop all forms of smoking 4 weeks prior to and 6 weeks post surgery. Nicotine and other forms of smoke inhalation can delay wound healing post surgery. Best of luck!
No smoking of anything is not safe, even if nicotine is not present. There are many other harmful chemicals in those products. Please do not smoke. Your lungs will thank you.
Aleyrah Hi There , Thank You for Your Question NIcotine and other forms of smoke inhalation can delay the healing process , that is why each doctor have they own protocols for it Pre OP and Post Op , so just make sure your PS is aware of this situation before any discomforts occur After a surgery .
I am Gary Horndeski, M.D. and I invented this procedure. I have trained several doctors including Dr. Mahmood Kara in Toronto. You should contact his office to schedule a consultation.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
You lost some tissue and need to keep them clean and covered so that you do not pick up more infection and slow the healing process down. Please find a physician to check you and watch your progress. You do not want this to infect your implants and have to have them removed.
If you are only having a lift, then you probably just have ptosis or sagging and not actually tuberous breasts. Implants are used to help reshape tuberous, shaped like tubers, breasts which is not done with a lift. If your skin the fairly stretchy, you will probably stretch after the lift....
Breasts are suppose to move to the side when you lay down. Bras will hold breasts in place or even push them together. Pushed together is not a natural position for breasts and is not done surgically.
No, skin sutures are often left in for two weeks or even longer depending upon the area of the body. You should be fine.
Tuberculosis is primarily a lung infection and you do not want this ever. Your areolae look fine, but could be flatten more if you want. Please discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
