Pulled/tugged on graft hairs 14 days post FUT?

Question

I had a FUT procedure done 2000 grafts and I am day 14. I tugged on the grafts last night and they seemed to come out easily without any resistance during the shower. So since its day 14 and it was instructed that I can scrub away any remaining grafts as the follicle is already implanted, I was bold enough to scrub away all the grafts. I am a bit worried whether I did this too early or if should have done this at all. Kindly shed some light.

Thank you for your question. You are allowed to pull out your grafts after the 9-day (rule-of-thumb) mark. I prefer to allow the grafts to fall out naturally. Always consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,

It is normal to lose transplanted hairs weeks after surgery.  It may take 6 to 12 months to see new hairs grow out.

You may return to your routine  and massage the area .These hair shafts that you see in your hand is normal course of events after HT.

Never pull on a crust overlying the graft as it could be pulled out by the crust. These will eventually come off with shampoo regularly done.

At two weeks time you can return to your normal washing routine. You can rub on the scabs and they should come off easily and that is normal.
