Hi, had surgery 6 weeks ago, 275cc moderate profile on both side, under muscle. Both implants are not dropping yet and i still in pain and the skin on my breast is so sore it feels like its been burned. Bras, clothing, linen touching it is very painful. And also the implants are still hard and tight. Is this normal? Or it a sign of capsular contracture?
Answer: 6 weeks post op with hard breasts I would recommend that you visit with your plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns. At six weeks, your implants and your breast may still be fairly firm. I would also encourage breast massage to help maneuver the implant in different directions. Your surgeon should be able to tell whether you have an early contracture on each side. In this case you may recommend taking some anti-inflammatory medications.

Answer: Implants after 6 weeks Hi there, thank you for your question. Although by 6 weeks you would expect more of a progression to where the implants would ultimately sit and the breast's final appearance, you are still only about half way there. There is an inherent anatomical design flaw with entirely submusclar implants. Dr Tibbett's philosophy on the necessity of a dual plane is fairly much accepted as gospel these days. So this sort of appearance in an entirely sub muscular implants is not entirely unexpected. I would suggest that you speak with your plastic surgeon for reassurance but I think at this stage as difficult as it might be, patience is the greatest virtue. Hope this helped, good luck.

Answer: 6 weeks post breast augmentation Thank you for the question and the picture. You are still in the early phase of the healing process. Healing from surgery will take time. In the initial phase after surgery, within the first three months, there is a period of inflammation and scarring that must occur in order for you to heal. The breast implants can appear to be high, not in the right position, oddly shaped, tight/hard along with the accompanying sensations you have described. Over ensuing months these processes will subside and the inflammatory process gives way to scar softening and remodeling. The swelling will start to abate and the breast tissue will relax and accommodate allowing the implants to settle into their desired position. As the implants settle the nipples will appear to lift and the breast fills and begin to take on their more normal appearance. These processes may occur at differing rates so that the breasts may not necessarily "settle" at the same time. I tell my patients that they will not see their results for at least 3-6 months. At this point I would recommend to be patient and continue in follow up with your plastic surgeon. This will allow you and your surgeon the chance to discuss your concerns and help allay any anxieties you may be experiencing. I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Answer: Breast implants Thank you for your question and photos. It appears that you would benefit most from a physical evaluation by your operating surgeon. At only six weeks post-op though, you are still in the healing process and there are most likely more changes that will take place, such as dropping further into place. In the meantime, please be sure to closely follow the instructions of your operating surgeon. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
