SmartLipo incisions usually close within 48-72 hours after the procedure. It is definitely not normal for your incision to still be open after 20 days. This could indicate a problem like infection or fistula formation. I recommend following up with your surgeon ASAP for examination and to discuss a treatment plan. Good luck!

Thank you for your question. These should heal by this time like other ones. Picture shows slow healing with slough. Please see your PS for evaluation to make sure no infection and for local wound care.

by 20 days, your holes should be healed. Perhaps you got small burns from the laser. With local wound care, it will heal with time and the scar will be fine. i usually put a single suture in my incisions and they heal very quickly. Ask your board certified PS.david berman md
