Thanks for your question and the photos. Don't freak out. It will take weeks before things start to look more normal. Using a short scar technique to avoid an incision in the crease can often result in a fairly scary appearance at the beginning. It is amazing how much the pleating and bunching will smooth out.  I probably only revise 5% of these at the most. Don't associate the time of surgery with the result. No surgeon "rushes through" surgery. Best of Luck!

Congratulations on your breast reduction!  And than you for sharing your concerns and your photos. This is a somewhat late answer, so hopefully things have already begun setting out. I perform verticle/"Lolli-Pop" breast reductions, but with a little bit different of a technique so the immediate post-operative breast shape of my patients is different than what I see in your photographs. However, the shape that you have in the pics is pretty classic for one of the more common verticle breast reduction techniques. With this technique,the breast shape is initially over-exaggerated so that it will have more coning and perkiness when everything settles out. Rather than cut out excess skin along the bottom of the breast,it is gathered up along the center. There will be a bit of excess skin between the old and new inframammary fold -- this will generally retract in the first months after the surgery.There is a potential need for minor revisions,and with the particular technique that you had, some practitioners quote up to a 20-25% rate. However,compared to the majority of the "Anchor" or inferior pedicel techniques, the cosmetic results are usually far superior. There are some strategies to help the inferior skin mold optimally that your surgeon can assist you with. He/she will also be in the best position to guide you through the recovery and healing process.
