Does Botox have dairy and or gluten in the ingredients?

Question

I have a dairy and gluten intolerance and I try to avoid medication and all foods with gluten and dairy. I learned in my research that Dysport has lactose. What about Botox? I couldn't find a specific site that showed me the ingredients list for Botox. Thanks!

No, Botox does not contain dairy or gluten. The ingredients in Botox are: botulinum toxin type A, human albumin, and sodium chloride.

It’s always best to be on the safe side, so I would suggest contacting the manufacturer, Allergan, directly to see if there are any possible risks of getting BOTOX® injections due to your dairy and gluten intolerances. BOTOX do not contain dairy or gluten. The active ingredient in BOTOX is botulinum toxin type A. While human albumin and sodium chloride are the inactive components.

No, there isn't gluten or dairy in Botox. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results with Botox. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
