There are a few options for this. The best treatments are vascular lasers such as pulsed dye laser and Excel V. IPL is good in the right hands, but has more risk of complications and doesn't have as long lasting results. Cost will vary, but I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question sghupp. I understand your concern.IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. It can also work well to treat broken capillaries. There are many devices and this can get confusing. BBL is the Sciton brand IPL. This is the device we use and find the results to be outstanding. That being said, it is more important to find the right doctor. Look for experience, before and after pictures, and testimonials. Pricing should not be the primary issue; results should be. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
To treat small dilated vessels, there are several options. Vascular lasers are excellent and are fairly pricey. IPL works well also, and may be slightly less than laser. You can also treat focal areas with a low-level cautery such as with Thermo-Lo. That will be less expensive. With any of these treatments, you will often have to treat more than once but not always. Lastly-- BBL is just the name one manufacturer (Sciton) gave to its IPL device. These two terms refer to the same technology.
Hi,Thanks for your question. IPL and BBL are basically the same thing. BBL is just Sciton's name for IPL. IPL is an excellent option for vascular lesions and pigmented lesions with very little down time. Typically a series of three treatments spaced one month apart followed by maintenance therapy every four to six months will adequately treat your concerns. Another option you may want to look into is Excel V, which is also an excellent option for vascular lesions. I hope this is helpful.Kevin Cavanaugh, MD
Firstly - IPL stands for intense pulsed light. BBL is Sciton's name for IPL and stands for Broad Band Light - basically same thing. For veins around nose there are many types of vascular lasers or IPl's that will treat these. Go to an experienced doc in your area who has more then one laser/device
I would use a combination of Luminase and Exfolase creams followed by fractional laser to help reduce the pigmentation. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian#Realself100 Surgeon

First, let me say that I am sorry that you have been experiencing this problem. Anyone who has followed my Q&As over the years knows that I am no fan of IPLs nor of other light and energy-based treatments. In general, the results from these relatively expensive approaches are subtle,...
Intralesional Kenalog, either alone or in combination with 5-FU, a relatively inexpensive treatment approach for this kind of problem, has proven itself a tried and true treatment modality for hypertrophic scars, in particular, as well as for keloids, for decades. I have personally used this s...
