Abdominal wall reconstruction. What is my recovery going to be like?

I am scheduled for abdominal wall reconstruction with two layers of biological mesh . I have had 2 c sections and 2 laparoscopy surgeries in the last 3 years. I'm 38, non smoker for 5 years, non drinker. What is my recovery going to be like and what are my risks during this surgery

Abdominal wall reconstruction is considered major surgery and requires a hospital stay following surgery. This is usually around 5-7 days. Recovery time varies depending on each individual patient, age and health. Good luck with your surgery!

Thank you for your query. Recovery from this operation would take unto 3months or more. This is a major procedure and avoidance of smoking along with weight maintenance are critical. Giving your body adequate healing time, scar management and support garment are all a key.Core exercises should only be commenced after 3months once the  healing process is well under way. Hopefully this gives you a perspective about how to go about things in regards to this complex procedure.
