I was dealt a long philtrum and a hyperactive upper lip. I know that injectables can solve these issues temporarily, but ideally, I’d like to find a permanent solution because of cost effectively over the long term. I was hoping to get a lip lift to solve my philtrum issue, but from what I understand, that can exacerbate a gummy smile. So, I was considering a lip repositioning procedure to permanently solve my gummy smile and pairing it with a lip lift in the future. Are these compatible?

Answer: Facial Sculpting Candidate -- Fillers, Threads, Fat Transfer, Implants, See an expert
It's difficult to say without the benefit of a formal evaluation. This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. If you already have a prominent gummy smile then this can make the situation worse.

Happily, the type of problem seen in the photos can be addressed, by an experienced injector using an appropriately chosen HA filler. The results are typically immediate, i.e. seen on the spot. Just make sure to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
