Deep rippling after mastectomy - advice? (photos)

Question

Double nipple sparing mastectomy. 380 cc's put in over the muscle at the time of mastectomy. Plastic surgeon had warned there might be some ripples and showed me pictures. They looked like if you turn them the right way you might see a ripple. I look like I was swiped by a bear claw. Pectoral muscles should be fine. Called him and sent pics he said I would never operate on you because you are too skinny (I am not) and I have no breast tissue to cover the implant. I HAD A MASTECTOMY.

So you had a crappy surgeon who ditched you and ran- happens all the time- I hear this each and every day because I specialize in fixing problems. You need new implants, possibly a switch to submuscular if your muscle is present and healthy and undamaged, and definitely several sheets of Strattice mesh on each side.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

You are thin and the pre-pectoral implant shows through the thin skin envelope.  A possibility is to reposition your implants below the muscle and at the same time do a lift.

You could have the implants placed behind the muscle and your surgeon could use dermal grafts to help give more coverage. If you have any donor fat, fat grafting could also be done.
