Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and midface lift? (Photo)

I am not a big fan of the midface lift at any age. However and age 34 I think you'd best be served by fillers. When the time comes even with Ehlers Danlos syndrome you should expect a good result with a well planned operation.

E.D. can land you in the E.D. (emergency department.)Have your surgery done in a hospital or reputable surgery center. This is not to be taken lightly; you are not a candidate for a strip mall facelift. See the most wise and experienced plastic surgeon you can find. You cannot afford to price shop.

Dear yoginaustin:It is best to consult with one or more Board Certified Plastic Surgeons in your case. Due to the syndrome, you may or may not have added risk and earlier laxity of your skin. It is hard to know if the soft-tissues underneath will respond as well with your concerns as those without EDS.What I have not heard is the use of fillers, Sculptra, retinoids, peels and skin tightening options for you. Explore these option particularly noting your age.Yes, a combination of filling, tightening and lifting are options but must be managed effectively and timely. Yes, it is technically possible to have both a midfacelift and lateral mini-lift.  Whether you are a good candidate for this will depend on a thorough evaluation with an experienced facial plastic surgeon.  Please do keep in mind that with EDS, your result will be shorter lasting than usual and you will be potentially needing additional treatments earlier in order to maintain the improvements in your face.Best of luck in your search!
