I had my tummy tuck 10/31 I was on my cycle when I had the procedure done I went off 3 days after that now I’m back bleeding from the vaginal with blood clots what is this please

Answer: Blee It is impossible to reassure you on line without physical examination. May be best for your PS just to 100% check the bleeding is not from the wounds.

Answer: Vaginal bleeding I would let your physician know, but an abdominoplasty could not cause vaginal bleeding. Ensure the blood is indeed coming from your vagina and is not drip down from an incision/drain. Also, ensure the blood is not from your urine (a catheter is often placed and removed during surgery, and a urinary tract infection can present as bloody urine). I would ask if you could have possibly started your menstrual period (with all the excitement of surgery we often forget the dates) or perhaps you were told to hold oral contraceptives/another form of birth control preoperatively leading you to start your cycle. If no to any of the above and this persists, a referral to a gynecologist may be in your future to rule out fibroids or any other causes of dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
