Mini Neck Lift and 'Pinch' Bleph For Me?? (photo)

Question

I am considering mini neck and pinch bleph in January. I feel that my neck ages me but not sure if I need a total one just yet. I had a lower bleph ten years ago in which fat was removed from lower eye area. It actually made me look worse and hollowed out. Thinking a pinch bleph might help my eyes look less droopy and more smooth. I am 41 in September and wnat to look as energetic as I feel!!! Turkey neck and hollowed eyes don't exactly help the cause!! Am I a good candiadte? Thanks for help!!

You appear to be a good candidate for a lower face/neck lift which can be done all under local anesthesia with less complications, swelling and bruising. I would recommend a jessner's + 35%TCA chem peel as well for the face and especially around the eyes rather than a pinch bleph. Sincerely,David Hansen,MD

It appears that most of the doctors who replied think that you look very good for your age and I certainly agree with this. Certainly, one option is to do nothing and to realize that you look far more youthful than most others your age. But, if you are motivated to proceed, unlike several others who replied, I have no problems with either one of your suggestions. Certainly, there are those who might suggest eyelid resurfacing with laser or with chemical peeling instead of a pinch bleph and this is a viable alternative. But I don't think that under the eye fillers will give you the results that you are seeking. Good luck!

Your photos do not show obvious signs of aging requiring surgery, however, a full evaluation by a facial plastic surgeon would be the best way to determine which options may be right for you. Both surgical and non-surgical options should be considered as well as a skin evaluation to assess for the best way to improve hollowing and fine lines around the lower lids.

Pinch blepharoplasty and neck lift vs full facelift is a common question. The pinch blepharoplastyay be indicated vs. a peel if u have excess skin. The neck lift may require a full lift if u have jowling with your chin down.

Although an examination would be definitive in the decision making process, your photos don't show indications which require surgery. An upper lid pinch Bleph and a neck lift won't be very beneficial without the appropriate aging changes. I would recommend having a consultation with a Facial Plastic Surgeon and discussing your concerns.

While the "mini" neck lift is a reasonable option for you at this time, consider a limited facial plasty (MACS or S-Lift) instead since it may address the early jowls and the neck bands also.From the photo of your eyes, I would recommend skincare rather than more surgery at this time. Which ever way you go be sure to consult a board certified plastic surgeon with excellent recommendations!

A neck lift procedure involves removal of fat above and below the platysma muscle and tightening the platysma muscle, called a platysma-plasty in the front part of the neck. When jowls are present and excess neck skin laxity are present, then a lower face and neck lift must be performed for best results. With respect to the lower lids a very conservative pinch technique or fractionated CO2 laser may help with the wrinkles on the lower lids. Over the internet does not replace IN PERSON examinations! My guess is yes to mini neck lifting with a SMAS repair. But as for pinch bleph. NO WAY! Try filler injections to even out the lower lids.
