I have 1500cc saline breast implants over the muscle. I've had my implants for 11 years. I am wanting to get a bbl and wondering if it's safe to get this procedure as I would need to lie flat on my stomach, my concern is rupture of my breast implants when my body weight is on them. Is this a possibility?
Answer: Sleeping position You are at an increased risk of rupture due to the size and age of the implants. Typically patients are okay to return to normal sleeping positions after they are recovered from surgery but you have a more unique situation. I encourage you to speak to your surgeon about your concern and to discuss alternatives for recovery.

Answer: Implants You should be fine and have probably laid on the girls many times, especially getting massages and sleeping. However, I suggest no elephant lays on top of you.

Answer: Laying on your saline implants Generally these days the implants that Cosmetic surgeons should be using should not be able to rupture that easily. If you are concerned about the durability of your implant, find out what brand they are. Saline implants are more maintenance than silicone and are at a heightened chance of rupturing over silicone in general. We never recommend putting saline implants on top of the muscle for a few reasons. Typically though, waiting at least 3-4 weeks post surgery to return to normal sleeping positions is advised. If you are still within the 3-4 week range after having your augmentation, sleeping in an upright position is best.

Answer: Careful positioning The surgeon should be position you with support around the breast so you are not lying directly on them during the surgery and you should do the same during the recovery. 11 year old 1500cc implants are at an increased risk of deflation. A BBL will increase that. I do not perform BBL for other reasons, but if you are concerned about rupture it is just another reason to avoid the surgery.

Answer: Dr Paweł Szychta Hi,Your concerns about the safety of undergoing a BBL with large breast implants are understandable. Factors to consider:1.Implant size and location:-Large Implants: With implants as large as 1500 cc placed over muscle, there is significant volume that can be compromised by external pressure.-Placement over the muscle: Over-the-muscle implants have less cushioning tissue compared to submuscular implants, potentially making them more susceptible to pressure when lying face down.2.Age of implants:-11 years: Implants typically have a lifespan of approximately 10-15 years. Over time, the implant coating may weaken, which may slightly increase the risk of rupture under pressure.3.Pressure during treatment:-Prolonged prone position: BBL requires you to lie on your stomach for an extended period of time. This can cause constant pressure on the implants.-Weight distribution: The weight of your body pressing on the implants can theoretically increase the risk of breakage or cause discomfort.Consult your plastic surgeon. Discuss your concerns with both your current plastic surgeon and the surgeon performing the BBL. They can assess the condition of your implants and advise on any specific risks. Your surgeon may recommend an MRI or ultrasound to assess the integrity of the implants before surgery.
