Is bilateral revision necessary if only one side has capsular contracture? (Photo)

Question

Hi I have capsular contracture on my left breast. My right one looks amazing!! Is it necessary to have them both done again or can I just get the revision on the one side that needs it? It’s been 5 years since my last surgery Thank you!!

Dear, neither breast look amazing because your implants are much too large for your tissue and frame. I commented earlier and do recommend going down in size.  Otherwise, you are going have to surgery after surgery trying to "fix" things.

If you only have a capsular contraction on the left side, then only the left side needs surgery.
Considering the excessive size of your implants, there may be issues on both sides, and you need an assessment via an in person consultation to determine the condition of both implants. if you have a complete capsulectomy on the left side, expect that breast to look quite different than the right side for sometime afterwards.
Recurrent contractions can be pretty serious complication that can lead to the need for multiple future revision procedures.
Anytime, excessively large implants are used that chance of undesirable side effects, complications and need for revision surgery will go up.
 Follow up with your provider schedule in person consultations with other plastic surgeons in your community.
