What risks? other options? Is a SOOF lift performed via a lower lid transcutaneous incision only? How effective is it to smooth out the lid-cheek junction? Are there other options for this issue, and if so what are the other pro & cons please? Is SOOF lift outdated?
Answer: Is a SOOF lift one of the options to smooth out/even out the unattractive ageing lid-cheek junction? No, SOOF fat is present under the upper eyelid. Transconjunctival arcus marginalis release with fat grafting can help the lower eyelid cheek junction. Later Voluma injection can plump the cheek. For more read below:

Answer: SOOF lift leep, As the originator of the SOOF lift blepharoplasty I can tell you that in my opinion this is the best procedure for improving the hollow look under the eyes that accompanies the aging process. I've been doing nothing but this procedure since I originally published this approach around 1999 in the Archives of Facial Plastic. As far as improving the nasolabial fold a SOOF lift by itself will help minimally. Most of my patients that have mid-face laxity have laxity elsewhere and have a deep plane minituck or facelift. I would recommend you avoid endotine lifts in the midface and/or "thread lifts" as in my experience neither is very helpful in the long run. To lift the midface solely a malar pad lift is done in my office with good results. It can be done under local. Occasionally a cheek implant is also helpful depending on the patient and pertinent anatomy. Seek a facial specialist and get two to three opinions, look at the doctor’s photos and you'll do alright in most cases. See the video for more information.

Answer: Lower Lid-Cheek Junction This is a good question. This area of the face is a definite sign of aging due to the lack of volume that occurs. The simplest way is to fill this area with either Fillers or Fat Transfer. Every person, male or female, looks younger when this junction is smooth. Both products work well. However, Fat transfer is superior over filler. It takes less fat than filler due to the nature of Fat. A consultation can determine if more surgery is needed. Usually, this area does not need a lift to improve it. Adding surgery to this area is not necessary. I hope this helps.

Answer: Transposition lower eyelid blepharoplasty Thanks for your question! The SOOF lift is a great procedure and is often a very effective means of softening the lower eyelid - cheek junction. In my opinion, a SOOF lift works best when combined with a transposition lower eyelid blepharoplasty where the orbicularis retaining ligament is released and fat from the lower eyelid region is redraped over the orbital rim. Both of these procedures can be performed using a transconjunctival incision without a skin incision. You might consider finding an ASOPRS trained oculoplastic surgeon in your area. Best of luck!

Answer: SOOF Lower Blepharoplasty A SOOF (Sub Orbicularis Occulae Fat) blepharoplasty is an excellent method of reducing tear troughs and improve the lid-cheek junction. This can be done through either a transcutaneous or trans conjunctival incision. Other methods include a mid cheek lift, a lateral orbicularis suspension with pinch blepharoplasty and malar filler injection with a filler like Juvederm Voluma. Each has its own advantages, disadvantages and risks.Make sure you see a plastic surgeon with experience in the different methods.
