How long does tape stay on after a breast lift?

Every surgeon has a different way of using post op steristrips. I try to keep them on 3 weeks, and after removal I start other methods to help get best scar. Good luck.

For scars, I close all of my incisions in 5 layers and do not use absorbable sutures because they cause inflammation and worse scarring. I tape all of my incisions in the office visits once a week for six weeks after surgery to improve the appearance. After taping, I start my patients on a scar gel therapy for 3 months that they have to put on their incisions twice daily.
If you are concerned, you should visit your plastic surgeon for assessment and to discuss your concerns, as different surgeons have different approaches in scar management. Your surgeon can also advice you of new innovations that can help with managing and improving the appearance of scars like lasers and other scar treatment modalities.

Many different kinds of tapes available for postoperative use will stay on at least three weeks. Even showering does not affect this. I prefer to change the tape at a week to freshen things up and have my patients learn to retape the incisions every 3 to 5 days. I asked them to remove the tape prior to a shower and wash everything with soapy water, rinse it, and reapply the tape sometime later. Altogether, I have them tape the incisions for about six weeks. This has been shown to decrease scarring.
