I’m two weeks post op. I’m very upset and self conscious and both breasts are flat across the bottom, almost square. One more noticeable than the other. Also I am wondering if my breasts are what’s considered “uniboob” or if this is a good amount of Cleavage. 695 cc silicone under muscle. I just feel like they’re wide and ugly right now and I’m worried I’ll need another surgery to correct the flat bottoms.
Answer: Square breasts In answer to your first question "why do the breasts look flat at the bottom?" There isn't just one parameter playing a role...the first parameter is that the fold that has been created during this operation is not curved enough. The second problem is that the implants are very big and they drop on the inframmamary fold and then create a flatness over it. The second question is "Is this a uniboob?". A uniboob in medical terms would be called a symmastia. From the photos, it doesn't look like classic symmastia, however because of the size of the implants, there is no space between the breasts. Some people like this look, whereas others don't. As it's only been two weeks since your surgery, things may change and become a little less crowded. However, this is something you need to discuss with your surgeon on a follow-up visit.

Answer: Flat bottom breasts Two weeks after surgery, there is still a great deal of swelling present, and the implants have not settled. This process takes several months to complete, and during that time you will experience changes in shape and size. The appearance of the bottom may very well correct during this time. With regards to cleavage, it is difficult to comment on without seeing your preoperative photos. It is difficult to create a " uniboob" or symmastia with submuscular augmentation, although it is possible

Answer: Post Op Concerns - Appearance of Breasts Hi lnboyd, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the early stages of the healing process at 2 weeks post op. Also, the appearance you have mentioned is not uncommon following breast augmentation surgery. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. Dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position. Also, your breasts can drop at different rates. But if you are still concerned, you can always visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns. This way, you will be reassured. Also, if after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss the possibility of revision surgery. Lastly, follow your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions and advice for faster healing and recovery. Answer: Flat bottom of boob You do not have uninvolved. Your cleavage is close because the implants are fairly large, and they end up being close just to fit on your chest. As for the flat bottom, this is most likely related to suturing. Strong suturing is needed to make sure the implant is supported and won’t bottom out, and it can look a little flat across the bottom sometimes. It should relax within 2-3 months. I wouldn’t worry about needing a revision at this time. As your tissues relax, they will look rounder.

Answer: Why are my implants flat across the bottom? Is this “uniboob” or is this a normal looming cleavage? Thank you for your question and photographs. After placement of implants, the appearance of the breasts will change dramatically over the next several months, as the implants drop, and the overlying tissue stretches to accommodate the extra volume. In your case the swelling from surgery is flattening your implants and holding them high on your chest. As this swelling resolves, the volume within the implant will redistribute towards the lower portion of your breast achieving a more natural appearance, and filling your bra cup more. That said 695cc implants are quite large depending on the look you were going after and a smaller or more narrow implant would give more breast separation. I know waiting is difficult, but judge your results at 4-6 months after surgery as most of your breast changes should have occurred by then. Hope this helps.
