Can you combine surgery by different doctors?

Question

In the interest of getting the procedures done with and the healing over all at once, I'm wondering if I could have 2 surgeries (rhino + labiaplasty) performed by 2 different doctors in the same session or very close together. Most docs don't specialize in both procedures so I'd have to see 2 surgeons. Could I get the labiaplasty first and go in for rhino while I was still healing?

What you describe is really not that uncommon. Often times the issue is coordinating the schedule of the surgeon's.

There are likely several surgeons in your area that would be quite good at performing both rhinoplasty and labiaplasty surgery. And completing them at the same time would not be contra-indicated. Trying to find two different surgeons that would be able to complete them at the same time would be unusual. If that is your preference, you might want to look into an academic practice or a large group practice that has several surgeons that utilize the same operating facilities. Otherwise, the logistics will be cumbersome.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The
best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  While it is possible to have this done, it would be much easier and more cost effective to find a surgeon who can do both procedures for you.  There are many good surgeons who specialize in both of these areas.   Make sure you
specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have
had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their
results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are
comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified
board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Lots of plastic surgeons are specialists in both labiaplasty and rhinoplasty. If there are none in your area, you may wish to seek a physician farther away. It is also possible for two physicians to do a combination procedure although this always presents logistical issues. It is hard to get two separate plastic surgeons available at the same time and cost may be prohibitive. Remember, also, that labiaplasty can sometimes be performed under local anesthesia in the office (most that I do are performed this way) and a rhinoplasty could be scheduled shortly thereafter. All things equal, one would schedule the rhinoplasty after a labiaplasty if general anesthesia is contemplated.

It is very common to have a rhinoplasty done with other types of body plastic surgery utilizing two surgeons. Make sure that the two surgeons communicate with each other and that they have a plan to coordinate this. Finding someone who is an excellent rhinoplasty surgeon means they may not be doing much body plastic surgery.  I would not sacrifice the experience of the surgeons you choose for each procedure to get a multiple procedure discount.

Yes, it is possible to combine those 2   Surgeries simultaneously under one anesthesia by 2 separate surgeons, or 2 separate surgeries.  The rhinoplasty procedure must be done under general anesthesia  has an outpatient procedure.  Look for a specialist  who has dedicated  a significant component of their practice to each one of these 2 procedures for best results.   Study their  photo gallery, which should be extensive.

Hello Mixxtape,It is very common to have two different surgeons operate on two different parts of your body at the same time.  The benefit of this is it saves you overall time in the operating room, and allows both areas to heal at the same time, instead of staging your surgery.  This all does depend on your surgeons, and they would need to discuss your surgery ahead of time to ensure they both feel comfortable.I hope this helps and good luck.

Many plastic surgeons can do both. It is probably better to have one surgeon do both or have two different ones do it at the same time. If not it might be best to stage them.

Yes, you can have a rhinoplasty and labiaplasty done by different doctors during the same operation.   In fact in two weeks I have a young lady from Dubai that is having a rhinoplasty revision by me  and a labiaplasty by another surgeon during one operation.
