So the person who was supposed to care for me after my BBL has backed out and is not willing to do it anymore. Will I be okay? I have no one that can care for me after this at all. I’m panicking a little and don’t know what to do. Any recommendations?
Answer: No caretaker after BBL. Will I be OK? Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear about your situation. It is recommended to have someone the first 24 hours to be around just in case of emergency. Following your surgery, you will feel tired, sore, and slightly stiff. As mentioned before, you should arrange for transportation home as well as someone who can stay with you the first few days after the procedure. You will be given a compression garment to wear that will offer support for the first few days after surgery. It’s important to rest, drink fluids, and take your prescribed medications. You’ll be able to resume light work within a few days but you should avoid too much physical exertion for the first few weeks. Best of luck Dhaval M. Answer: Caretaker after BBL It is always a good idea to have someone help you for the first 24-48 hours following surgery as a lot of the serious complications can occur in that time. It just makes sense to have somebody that can help in an emergency. Many doctors can recommend a caregiver as well.

Answer: No caretaker after BBL. Will I be OK? My patient coordinator maintains a list of nurses and RNAs available to help take care of any of my out of town patients who are unaccompanied. This should not be a problem with having your surgery. Call your PS's office for recommendations. I recommend that you have a responsible adult provide assistance for the first 48 hours.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
