I will be getting subcision based on the answers I was given here. I was recommended subcision with belotero filler by my plastic surgeon. I am not familiar with Belotero filler so I am not sure how my body will react to it? He said the filler will work right away to fill in the scar but it is temporary (will last between 8 to 16 months). What is your opinion on Belotero filler and the risks associated with it?
Answer: Belotero for Chicken Pox Scar Dear Robin, Thanks for your question! Belotero is a great filler that integrates nicely with the skin (it's actually in my opinion the best filler for tissue integration-so it looks very natural). The risks associated with it are the same with any filler. For a chicken pox scar or any scar for that matter, Belotero is a great choice of filler for this purpose with some subcision to treat the depression and scar tissue. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Answer: Microneedling, subcision and filler for scar I think subcision with filler and microneedling would help with this scar. Belotero is a softer filler which works well for superficial lines and wrinkles and is used for scars off label. Microneedling would help with collagen production which could improve the look of the scar. The subcision would break down any dermal adhesions at the base of the scar. I would start with a series of microneedling treatments and the followup that up with subcision and filler as needed.

Answer: Belotero for scar Hi there and thanks for your followup question! I think subcision and Belotero are a great idea. Belotero is a hyaluronic acid based filler, like those in the Juvederm and Restylane lines. It is made by the company Merz, so perhaps that is why you haven't heard as much about it. I love it for filling very superficial scars like this. I agree that it will be temporary and that subcision will be beneficial. I would add that stimulating your collagen in this area via microneedling/microchanneling and PRP would be beneficial in the longrun while the filler will help most in the shortterm. As far as risks associated with Belotero, blocking of a blood vessel is the most severe risk, just like any other filler. In this area and as superficial as it will be placed, that risk is quite low. Bruising, swelling, and injection site pain are your most likely side effects from this treatment. Keep us posted on your progress! Best, @DrKatNP.trilogy
