Does Belotero need to be refrigerated after use? I understand sterility and if not used to discard, but my doctor said there was too much swelling and would like to see me back in the office in about two days to finish syringe

Thank you for your question! If there was too much swelling at the time you were first injected, wait until all the swelling is completely gone 2-4 weeks and then go back to have more filler injected. In the meantime, the doctor can store it for you in a secure spot and reinject you with it at that time. I hope that helps! Good luck!

No, it does not required refrigeration. Swelling can take 1-2 weeks to go away and it's best to wait so that the final result can be appreciated and more fillers accurately injected.  Best, Dr. Emer

Belotero does not need to be refrigerated. This said:
1- wait at least 2 weeks prior to getting more filler 
2- I would advice against storing partially used syringes. Once the product has been used, it is no longer sterile. Re-using a partially used syringe is something you should discuss with your provider/injector .

Adding more filler to any place on the face, especially the eyes, should not be performed earlier than 2 weeks. The 2 weeks allows the swelling from filler placement to settle so that an accurate assessment of if and how much product needs to be placed. Belotero does not need to be refrigerated, but the product is no longer sterile once used. Thanks for your question.  I would caution you to be very careful with "re-using" a syringe as the sterility is no longer intact once the syringe is opened and used partially.  The product does not need to be refrigerated, but we do not ever save partially used syringes due to the risk of biofilm or infection that can be very very difficult to treat and can result in a very unhappy patient. Thank you for your question. In our office, we do not store partial syringes for injecting at a later date. There are a number of reasons for this including sterility, cataloging what syringe belongs to which patient, etc. In general, dermal fillers do not need to be refrigerated after opening unless they require refrigeration prior to opening such as Bellafill. Belotero is an HA filler and does not require refrigeration.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Belotero does not have to be refrigerated after it is opened.  It is a good idea to wait if you have a lot of swelling with the first injections.  The swelling can distort the tissue and make it hard to determine where the filler really needs to go.  By waiting a few days, even a few weeks, you will have a better final result.  Belotero is fine at room temperature in the meantime.
