Is it okay to travel alone for lipo/BBL?

Question

Am looking to travel alone to Another state-to get my Lipo/BBL since my husband needs to stay home with my 2 young kids. I most liked will be a thing at the recovery house where they provide transportation, meals, help etc.But then I'll be flying back few hour flight to ft back home. Is traveling alone to get this surgery doable??? Idk if am making a good decision. I can't take anyone else as am not really telling anyone that am going to get this procedure done.

Good idea to stay in a recovery house.  Obtain approval for the flight back and post-operative instructions from your plastic surgeon. He/she will tell you how long you need to stay at the recovery house based upon your surgery and recovery.  Often I provide my patients with a note to the airline attendants, requesting that they be able to stand when the seat belt sign is off.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

First, it is probably better to have surgery near your home. Second, if you plan on traveling, you should travel with someone in case of a problem.  Good luck.

This all depends on how long you are going to recover before you travel back home alone. At one week after surgery you are still on pain medication which can make you loopy. You also are slow moving and may have difficulty carrying your bags etc. Most placed require that someone sign for you after surgery. You must make sure that the recovery house or transportation person from the recovery house is willing to sign. It is always best to have surgery close to home, but that isn't always an option as there are not "good" BBL surgeons in every city.
