Hi,Septoplasty fixes the breathing issues inside the nose, it will not help for the look of your nose.Rhinoplasty fixes the the way the nose look appearently, Septorhinoplasty can help both issue together for breathing and shape, it can be performed Closed and Atraumatic Technique which means you will not have external scars with maimal healing and minimal tissue damage.Kindly Regards
Thanks for the question and photos. Unfortunately, your nose will look the same after septoplasty, as that will only fix the breathing issues inside the nose. You would need to have a rhinoplasty as well to change the appearance. Good luck!
A septoplasty will correct the septum, the wall inside the nose that divides the airway into the right and left side. The septoplasty will not correct any external deformities and does change the appearance of the nose. For that you would require a rhinoplasty. Please discuss this with your surgeon.
Thank you for your question. "Crooked" noses are very common, and are often not the result of a deviated septum alone. Pictures only tell a part of the story. A physical exam would be needed to make definitive recommendations. Based on your photos, you will likely require a septoplasty and cartilage grafts for your tip and possibly spreader grafts. The cartilage from your septum can be used for grafting. Insurance typically covers a septoplasty for a deviated septum, and reconstructions to treat breathing issues, however, every insurance plan is different. Insurance will not cover any concerns that are cosmetic in nature.Seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience with nasal reconstruction. Good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. A septorhinoplasty would be able to repair your deviated septum and straighten your nose. A septum alone will only improve the cartilage that separates the left and right nostril airways. Best,Chester Griffiths, MD, FACS
You are still very early after your second surgery. I tell patients it will take at least six weeks after nasal surgery to improve breathing. I would continue follow up with your surgeon and follow their recommendations. Best of luck
Hello,Thank you for your question and provided information. Nasal obstruction can be due to different reasons such as deviation, nasal valve collapse and turbinate hypertrophy. You need to be examinated in-person and in detailed. You need to seek a professional, innovative surgeon. Closed...
I would definitely let your surgeon know about this. Nobody but your surgeon knows what that is. Don't take advice from strangers on the internet.
