J4K1. Sorry you’re having such discomfort, and symptoms you describe are extremely rare this far out after Tummytuck surgery. I recommend that you consult with your plastic surgeon and explore your options. The plication may not be causing your discomfort. Sutures can be removed, but it means another operation, and Relief of your discomfort cannot be guaranteed. Best of Luck!
There may be many reasons for your discomfort, that removing the sutures may not solve. It would be best to return back to your original surgeon to be examined & discuss possible causes. But yes, in general the permanent (if used) sutures can be removed. I use absorbable sutures, so particularly in very slim patients, so the knots can't be felt.

The removal of sutures from the tummy tuck is involved and expensive. If you are having abdominal discomfort the cause is very likely not your sutures. Have you gained weight in the abdominal region? This can cause pressure on the intestinal structures and organs and be very uncomfortable. Consider a weight loss regimen before doing surgery if this is the case. By all means, see your surgeon for help.
The plications sutures may or may not be easily removed, and this would require surgery. They also may or may not be causing your issues.

I personally don't have a problem with my patients switching into a waist trainer or spanx after a week or so. As long as it applies compression to the treated areas then it should be fine. I wouldn't suggest wearing it until you run it by your surgeon. Best of luck!
