Does Rogaine cause folliculitis? If it does, do I have to stop using Rogaine all together?

Folliculitis is inflammation of the hair follicle. People that have problems with minoxidil are more likely having an irritation, inflammation, or an allergic reaction in the skin. Propylene Glycol is the most likely culprit for this reaction in many formulations of minoxidil. A dermatologist would best be able to determine what component you are having the allergic or irritant reaction to. If you are not able to find a compound that does not cause “folliculitis” or “contact dermatitis”, then you must seek alternative therapies such as finasteride, laser therapy, or PRP. 

You'll want to see a dermatologist to review how minoxidil can best be compounded in your case to limit folliculitis. This may involve compounding in various amounts of water, retinoids, and corticosteroids. See a dermatologist to guide you.
