Do you recommend Rogaine?

If hair growth is going to occur with the use of Rogaine (Minoxidil), it usually occurs after the medicine has been used twice daily for at least 3 to 6 months and lasts only as long as the medicine continues to be used.
Unfortunately, Rogaine will not cure your hair loss condition. Additionally, the improvement rate varies from person to person. Hair loss will begin again within a few months after minoxidil treatment is stopped. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hair loss expert to go over your condition and advise you on best treatment options.

If you use Rogain, you will get good results in a period of 4-6 months. But after stopping it you will return to the beginning. Therefore it is always suggested to consult with a doctor first.

Yes, you would need to continue using Rogaine to maintain results. Rogaine does improve hair follicle function why you are using it.  If you stop, you will lose any progress you made but you will not be worse off than you would have been had you never used it.

If you have androgenetic alopecia and stop Rogaine, any hair that you have gained will fall out. 

With Rogaine (Minoxidil), you can have a short period of hair shedding when you start the medication but that will reverse. The new hair that grows on the drug will be dependent upon it
