I am 5’7 130 lbs and I am obsessing over the difference w in my breast.. I know they are sister and not twins .. but I can’t help but wonder if my left implant was larger they would appear more similar.. the right more upper pole fullness and just looks better.. the left looks deflated.. I’m really upset that my surgeon did the 100cc difference.. it makes me feel deformed.. please give you honest opinion Will a larger implant give me the upper pole fullness? If so what size? 425 like right
Answer: Implant Switchout Although common practice, surgeons use different sized implants during augmentation mastopexy cases. It makes no sense, because the larger breast can simply be reduced during the lift to achieve soft tissue symmetry and allowing for the use of the same size implant. Regardless, a quick examination of your soft tissue discrepancy will help a surgeon estimate the appropriate sized device to use for the smaller breast.

Answer: Surgery Your before photos may should the difference between the two breasts better. More volume could be added to the left, but probably not 100 cc's. Please discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: More surgical details Hi there, Can you provide more surgical details, such as how far out from surgery these photos are? If you are early in your recovery then it will likely take more time till your final results are shown IF you are over 6 months or so out then it would be more appropriate to discuss a revision with your MD to change the implant size to something with better symmetry All the best

Answer: Continued breast asymmetry after different size, implants and field Based on your nicely posted photos I agree there is more a symmetry to positioning the volume. I recommend in person consultation or virtual consultation to see in live action your breast. Expect fees to range from $8000-$20,000 for revision. I would recommend re-lifting the lower left breast with a full revision, and then determining of the implant is too large at that time for possible exchange to a smaller size. Again best to virtual consult with.

Answer: Breast surgery outcome Managing breast asymmetry can be challenging. When the patient is asleep, laying on their back, the breast tend to look different. When the patient stands up later gravity has a pretty big impact and sometimes our initial assessment during surgery can be a little off. Your breast are inherently quite different. Most people, men and women have their left breast, sitting slightly higher on the chest wall than the right side. I believe this was true for you initially as well. If the left breast sits higher on the chest wall than the left nipple should also sit slightly higher. we usually assess initial breast position based on the level of the IMF or infra mammary fold. That fold or anatomic position can become distorted after breast augmentation. In order for you to get volume in the upper part of your left breast the left implant needs to sit higher. It wouldn’t hurt to bring the nipple position up in the conjunction as well. I’m not sure if your implant has bottomed out a bit on the left side. Perhaps you had more breast ptosis on the left side initially. Equalize implants may have been slightly better, but there are a number of variables going on at the same time and what your breast look like during surgery while laying on your back without implants or with temporary sizers may have been a bit different. That’s not an excuse for your surgeon But I think all plastic surgeons have been in this position at one point or another. It looked good during the procedure, and afterwards we sort of scratched our head “hmm say how did that happen”. I’m not sure how many breast procedures you’ve had. Follow up with your provider and discuss your concerns with him or her. For a proper in person second opinion consultation, come prepared, bringing with you a complete set of before and after pictures for any previous breast operation and previous operative reports.
