Hello! I have a veneer on my front tooth and the natural tooth underneath has developed a crack. I can't get in to see my dentist for 5 days - this is a tooth that has had a root canal, it does not hurt, I am just scared something bad will happen. Do I need to worry? Will I be ok for a few days?

Answer: Cracked tooth If you are not experiencing discomfort you should be fine to wait 5 days. Do not use this tooth for biting or tearing. Pamper it until you see the dentist. Teeth that have root canals are more fragile so be very careful.

Answer: Cracked Teeth When you have a tooth treated with root canal, the entire tooth becomes somewhat brittle. Therefore, the treatment of choice is a protective crown in conjunction with a gold post being placed partially into the root of the tooth, for added support. This should be done asap, to prevent the occurrance of the entire crown being fractured.
