Why do I still have a painful severe discomfort in my left breast that hurts and spasms from the outside to the back ribs?

I am over 6 months PO and I had my left breast displace laterally, I now have severe discomfort that radiates around to the ribs area, front and back. What can be causing this?

After a breast augmentation, if the implant displaces laterally, this can put the nerves in that area on extra stretch which can be painful and the pain can radiate around the chest to the back. The good news is that this almost always gets better with time.  A supportive bra may help to help centralize the implant and take the pressure off of that area.  I think its always a good idea to follow up with your surgeon when these situations arise.  I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for your questions. However, it's not clear from your inquiry what procedure you are 6 mo postop from? However, if your implant and/or breast has shifted more laterally, then lateral pain or pain that radiates to the back isn't uncommon. However, any pain at this point is unusual. I recommend seeing your surgeon for a thorough followup. Best of luck.
