Are hip implants placed inside/behind muscle like properly placed butt implants?

Unlike buttock and breast implants, hip implants are typically placed above the muscle. The implants are placed between the tensor fascia lata and the subcutanous fat. If you are very thin, the implant may be more visible, but usually there is enough soft tissue that hides the implant well.

There really are no muscle bellies at the hip dip to place the implant under. There is a lot of facia and tendon insertion’s in the area.
