I want to get composite veneers because I don't have enough money for porcelain veneers at the moment and I just want a quick fix for my smile. I also like that they don't do as much to your teeth in the prep but is that true? And because they don't shave off as much does this make the veneers look bulky and protruding?
Answer: Bulky veneers Without a picture it is a little difficult to explain how bulky your veneers will be. You should go to a cosmetic dentist who works closely with a lab (or does digital smile design) to provide you with a mock-up so you can see how bulkily they will be in your mouth. Typically a good place to start is to see how good things can look with no prep - if you are really disappointed with that then the dentist can guide you on how much tooth reduction is needed. Good luck with choosing your treatment. Thomas Dey, BDS, MSc

Answer: Composite Veneers HI, thanks for sending your question. Often composite veneers can be bulkier than porcelain ones. They are also weaker than porcelain. Consider visiting a cosmetic dentist for a comprehensive evaluation of your teeth to determine which route would be better for. All the best.

Answer: Composite veneers Hi:Depending on the position of your teeth, you may or may not need to shave your enamel. If your teeth are already in the right position then more preparation is needed so that the teeth would not be bulky at the end, if the teeth are slightly inward then composite veneer can be done without much of enamel preparation. Answer: Composite veneers Without a opicture it is impossible to answer your question specifically. Composite veneers are not always a cheaper solution to the problem. If done correctly the require a very skilled dentist. It may also be necessary to remove as much tooth structure for the composite as one needs to remove for porcelain. Quick and cheap are not really the best criteria when choosing how to improve your smile.

Answer: Are composite veneers reversible in do they look bulky? Composite veneers can be made very thin and therefore do not have to look bulky. They usually do not require any removal of your natural tooth structure, and therefore they are reversible. For our patients, we place a smile preview veneer so that they can see how it will look before the actual permanent veneer is placed. Our patients love them because they are done in one visit, they do not have to have tooth structure removed, they are very natural looking, and they are much more affordable than porcelain veneers. In your situation, I think it would be a great choice for you.
