What is the best "Chin Filler" and why?

Question

With all the different options of fillers, it's hard to know what injector and recommendation to go with for chin filler. I had a plastic recommend juvederm ultra then an injector recommend restylane defyne (or Lyft). What a the best option to go with and why? Thank you so much for your feedback!

Thank you for your question. There are a lot of filler options are there now, but in general for the chin, we want a filler that's more firm and will offer structure, versus say a filler for the lips where you want something more malleable. All of the fillers you listed would work, and at that point it comes down to preference of the injector. Some fillers last a bit longer than others, and that's something worth asking about. Personally, when it comes to chin and jawline augmentation, I like Radiesse because it has more firmness than the other fillers, and it also tends to last longer. While some generalizations can be made about injectable filler, additional considerations include provider preference and experience with different products, properties of the product, and injection technique. Additionally different fillers may be trialed over time to see which product provides the best result for the patient. "Best" depends a lot on your individual case, anatomy, and goals. Generally for a chin filler, you want one that is cohesive and has a high elastic modulus. Shop talk aside, those are the stronger, thicker fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, RHA4, and Restylane Lyft.

Thank you for your question!  We typically like to use a thicker filler such as Voluma for the chin. Voluma is great for the cheeks, chin, and jawline as it mimics bone structure since it is a firmer filler. Different injectors typically prefer and are comfortable with different products.
