Im a male in my twenties and Ive been slim throught my life, which never bothered me until I lost fat from my face, but for some reason its only from the right side of my face Which makes me feel self conscious as not only it makes me look older but due to the unsymmetry its creating. Can someone tell me what maybe the cause and how to treat it?
Answer: Cheek Augmentation with Fillers (Radiesse, Voluma), Sculptra, implants, fat It can be normal to lose facial volume with age. Facial symmetry and volume of the cheeks can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Implants or fat are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Losing fat on one side of my face? Fat transfer or a robust filler such as Voluma® or Restylane® Defyne may fix cheek volume asymmetries, which are usually genetic.

Answer: Losing fat on one side of my face? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. It's normal to loose what I call "baby fat" from the face as one approaches the mid to late twenties. There is no way to control or stop this process which may change the shape of the cheeks and face. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. In my experience, there is some degree of asymmetry in every face and as long as it's within the normal limits...it by itself has very little effect on how attractive the face is perceived. Instead it's the presence of aesthetically shaped "key" facial features that dictates whether the face appears to be: male, female, attractive or less so. Following my beauty principles, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. The following procedures, in general, have the ability to create a more ruggedly handsome face. Proper photos of "your" face would allow me to be more specific about your particular case. Cheek augmentation with cheek implants to add angularity to the cheeks and mid face. This would be combined with liposuction to reduce the excess facial fat to further define the cheek shape. Chin augmentation, using a chin implant, to add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. From the photos, your chin is weak. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery. Augmentation of the mandibular angles using a dermal filler (jaw implants have too many unwanted side effects IMHO) to add volume, angularity and flare to the jaw line. Hope this helps
