Can a gastric band be removed without surgery? I am considering endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

Could a gastric band be removed from the throughout or it requires a surgery ? I didn't like it as all is does is chocking no matter how loose or tight it is or how slow eater I am, so I avoid eating and I ended up feeling tired and not being able to socialize as I can struggle on the table or feel uncomfortable. I am considering Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty and would appreciate any recommendations near Atlanta. Thank you :)

Yes, it can be removed but it must be penetrated into the stomach, and you should wait 3 to 6 months to perform endoscopic plication.
The gastric band can be removed laparoscopically and the sleeve can be performed, and it is a procedure that can last for many years

This is called revisional bariatric surgery. You will have first to remove the band and doing the weight loss surgery in same setting. The preferred in your situation is gastric bypass not sleeve. Hope that helps

HEllo, I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with this. Lap bands are only removed through surgery. Additionaly, in this case the most appropiate option for you would be conversion to a gastric sleeve which can be done at the same time as the band removal, not gastroplasty.

No, it can't!Also I recommend Sleeve Gastrectomy over Endoscopic procedures for much better results and long term track.
