I am in the process of getting cleared for gsstric sleeve. I have severe hanging stomach skin due to already losing 100 pounds on my own. I have 100 more to go. It affects my back, I get rashes and for some reason affects my bladder. Meaning if i dont pick my belly up to urinate, it wont all come out. My question is, can skin be removed at the same time as gastric sleeve? I need some relief.
Answer: Is not safe You cannot remove skin in the same gastric sleeve procedure, it is not safe to perform it, it is better to lose weight

Answer: Hi First and foremost, we would like to commend you on your remarkable achievement of losing 100 lbs on your own—a remarkable testament to your dedication and determination. You should indeed be exceptionally proud of this accomplishment. Regarding concerns about excess skin following bariatric surgery, it's worth noting that significant weight loss often leads to changes in body composition, including loose or excess skin. While not everyone experiences this concern to the same extent, we understand it can be a topic of interest for some individuals. In our practice, our primary focus is on providing comprehensive weight loss solutions and support. However, we do recognize the importance of addressing post-bariatric body contouring concerns. Therefore, if you decide to pursue the Gastric sleeve procedure and have successfully completed your first year post-surgery, we recommend exploring consultations with reputable plastic surgeons. These plastic surgeons specialize in post-bariatric body contouring procedures and can provide expert guidance tailored to your unique circumstances. They will assess your individual needs and discuss which surgical options may be most appropriate to address any excess skin concerns. While we do not offer plastic surgery services within our practice, we are committed to ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care throughout their entire weight loss journey. Should you decide to explore this avenue, we are here to support you and provide any necessary documentation or referrals to assist in your decision-making process. Thank you for considering our bariatric surgery concierge services. Your well-being and satisfaction remain our top priorities. Warm regards,Miami VIP Surgery

Answer: Weight loss can impact the results It is possible to have skin removal surgery (such as a panniculectomy) at the same time as a gastric sleeve, but it depends on your overall health, your surgeon’s recommendation, and the policies of the facility where the surgery will take place. Combining the procedures might offer relief from the discomfort and medical issues caused by your hanging skin, such as back pain, rashes, and bladder difficulties. However, many surgeons prefer to perform skin removal surgery after you’ve reached or are close to your goal weight, as further weight loss can impact the results. Discuss this with your bariatric surgeon and possibly a plastic surgeon to see if it’s a safe and viable option for you.
