It’s a bit too late in the recuperation process for you to still be experiencing these symptoms. Narcotic pain medication could be to blame for your nausea and dizziness, but I recommend scheduling a visit with your surgeon just in case. You may be experiencing some sort of reaction or another issue that can be addressed during an in-person visit.
Call your surgeon and get in to see him/her right away. It can be medication reaction, fluid balance or other issues. You should be seen in person for an evaluation and don't drive yet (too early). I would expect you to be a bit more comfortable by now. Be sure you are clear on what you should and shouldn't be doing in terms of activity at this point from your surgeon.
Cindy,I need more info....Are you still taking narcotics? If so, that may be causing the nausea and dizziness. Anemia may also cause the same symptoms so you need to follow up with your surgeon.Pain is difficult to answer. You should still have moderate discomfort even at 8 days post op. Rest assured, it always goes away with more time. You should ask your Plastic Surgeon about using anti-inflammatories like:Advil, Aleve, Celebrex, Motrin, Naprosyn, Toradol...etc.Do not use any aspirin products. You must clear this with your Plastic Surgeon first. I allow my patients to take the Advil/Motrin...3 days after surgery and it really helps with the level of pain.Hope you feel better very soon Cindy.Dr T
