Hello, I have implants currently and planned on having a lift with an implant exchange. I’m wondering if it’s possible to have the implants taken out, a lift, and have the pockets filled with fat via transfer…. All in the same surgery.
Answer: Implants No. the implants can be removed and sometimes a lift can be done. However, fat is not placed in the pocket where the implants were, but into actual breast tissue. Fat is living tissue and needs to be inside living tissue to fine blood supply and live. Also, the tissue should not be a disturbed by doing a lift, but be stable to hold the fat.

Answer: Explant with fat transfer Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your bra size. However, it is possible to do an explantation with a small amount of fat transfers. You will not be able to transfer the amount of fat needed to replace the implant size. You can have a second surgery and have a larger amount transferred. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast implant removal, lift and fat graft Hi. You can have your implants removed and your breasts lifted along with some fat grafting, but it's not ideal. The fat does not get put into the old implant pocket, and fat is usually not an equal substitute for implants. Also, when all of these are done simultaneously, sometimes the fat grafts don't survive as well as they would in a more controlled setting. Since your doctor has seen you in person and knows about your anatomy and your implants, talk to him/her about the realistic expectations in your situation. Best of luck!

Answer: Implant removal, lift and fat transfer Dear emilyanne714, I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.
