The puffiness of the areolas can be reduced with a donut mastopexy, also called circumareolar mastopexy or areolar reduction. The only scar would be around the circumference of the areola.A rim of skin is removed from the outer portion of the areola. A purse string stitch is placed to stretch out the areolar skin, flattening the domed contour.
