Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2.

From the brief history provided, we don't have information as to which kinds of procedures were performed and by whom. We don't know, for example, if they were simply glitzy, expensive "bells and whistles" RF treatments or fancy-named fraxel laser treatments, or whether they were performed at medpas or by non-professionals, which might be red flags for not achieving gratifying results from the outset. I have personally been treating all kinds of acne scars for several decades, and what I can say from the photos provided is that the types of scars visible in the photos would likely respond to Field Subcisions of the cheeks and chin regions followed, if necessary, by individual subcisions for any scars for which additional improvement may still be desired. Moreover, TCA CROSS could be used for any troubling ice pick scars and dilated pores. It is important to note that relatively expensive fraxel laser treatments (much like RF treatments) are far more supported by device manufacturer or social media influencer hype than any hard science. So, a very healthy dose of "buyer beware" is in order when considering these. You would be wise to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
